Adapted nutrition and logistics

Understanding the needs of the markets we are serving, Compact For Life has ensured that both the nutritional and logistical qualities of our products be optimal.

The recipes

The recipes of our products have been developed to provide the highest content of nutrient per bar according to the real need of the end users (may it be moderate or severely malnourished people, HIV patients or people in distress). Our products contain the highest possible ratio of balanced nutrition compared to volume. Nutritionists and food specialists have recognised the high potential of Compact products.

  • High level of energy easily digested and utilised
  • All essential vitamins and minerals are balanced to give a high nutritional utilisation
  • The contents of anti-nutritional factors are low due to carefully selected raw materials. This secures the absorption of essential micronutrients and limits any allergic reactions.

Innovative packaging

The innovative packaging of our products have been developed to facilitate logistics and to preserve the nutritional value of the food under any conditions.

  • Logistics: Each product is packed to answer the needs of its end-user. Accordingly, our products are packed so that they can be air dropped (up to 600m without significant damage) and be stored under extreme conditions. The packaging also enables large quantities to be easily transported using small trucks or vehicles.
  • Preserving nutritional value: Tthe packaging of our product is designed to protect the food from externalities (extreme temperatures, water and moisture).
  • Preparedness: The packaging also enables a long shelf-life which makes our products suitable for emergency preparedness stock. As an example, BP-5™ is the only original Ready-to-eat food with a shelf-life of 5 years unconditionally. Storing this food close to the  disaster areas will save valuable time and cost of logistics during disaster periods.

Adapted nutrition and logistics

In addition to those strengths, Compact offers customised service by being ready for dispatch within a few hours from incoming orders thanks to the back-up stocks kept in Norway, Denmark and other strategic places in Africa, Asia and the Middle-East.

This has secured a reliable network of freight forwarders and airlines that are geared for quick actions. As an example, Compact is able to deliver a minimum of 1.000 tons (2 million units) of BP-5™ at any time within 24 hours.
